Pioneer Tennis Teams Advance to Consolation Brackets at SBC Tourney

The Pioneers men's team, the No. 5 seed, lost to No. 4 seed New Orleans, 4-1. The Denver No. 3doubles team of sophomores Magnus Ramfelt (Bromma, Sweden) and Trevor Young (Pueblo, Colo.) won the first doubles match of the day 8-3, but the Pioneers lost the doubles point on a tiebreaker set at No. 2. The Pioneers' lone point was a win by No. 1 seed singles junior Tomasz Wawrzyniak (Inowroclaw, Poland) over UNO's Magnus Oding, 6-4, 6-2.
The Pioneers women's team was seeded sixth in the tournament bracket, forcing a rematch with last week's opponent Arkansas State. The Lady Indians prevailed for the second time in seven days, this time 5-1. Junior Dita Kochloffelova (Prague, Czech Republic) recorded Denver's lone point with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
