Men Set to Close Exhibition Season Saturday

Nov. 9, 2001

DENVER - The men's basketball team concludes its exhibition season with a 7 p.m. game Saturday night against Colorado Christian in Magness Arena. The men are looking to continue their play from last week, when a balanced Pioneer offense saw seven players score in double-figures in an 86-72 win over the Kilsyth (Australia) Cobras.

Senior forward Sherman Rochell (Oklahoma City, Okla. / Northern Oklahoma College) led Denver with 14 points and added five rebounds, while sophomore center Brett Starkey (Lakewood, Colo. / Green Mountain HS) added 10 points and led all players with nine rebounds and three steals.

Men's single-game tickets are $8-11 for adults, $6-9 for faculty/staff, $5 for children and senior citizens and $2 for students sitting in the student section.

Fans are urged to arrive early on Saturday due to weekend construction near the Ritchie Center. Motorists should be advised that University Blvd. will be closed this weekend from Buchtel Blvd. south to Asbury Ave. for maintenance on a water main under University Blvd. Fans arriving from I-25 are advised to park in the Buchtel structure (Lot 103) to the northwest of the Ritchie Center, or in Lot 108, which is east of University on the north side of Buchtel Blvd.
