DES MOINES, Iowa -- The University of Denver men's tennis team lost its first match of the young dual season, then rebounded to start a new winning streak Saturday afternoon at the Drake Tennis Center.

Nebraska dealt the Pioneers their first loss of the season, sweeping the six singles matches and winning the doubles point despite a 9-8 victory by juniors Magnus Ramfelt (Bromma, Sweden) and Jay Patel (Ahmedabad, India) over the Husker tandem of Jorge Abos-Sanchez and Lance Mills.

In its next match against the host Bulldogs, Ramfelt was one of four Pioneers singles wins (6-4, 6-0 over Drake's Anthony Perkins), and also led a Pioneer sweep of the doubles point.

The Pioneers (5-1) return to action the weekend of March 2-4, when Denver faces Sun Belt Conference foes New Orleans, New Mexico State and Arkansas-Little Rock in New Orleans.
