Men's Tennis Defeats Missouri-Kansas City, 7-0

DENVER -- The University of Denver men's tennis team returned to its winning ways with a 7-0 victory against the University of Missouri at Kansas City, Saturday (Mar. 10), at the Air Force Academy.
All six Pioneers won at singles, while Denver lost just one match at doubles. Senior Boris Turkic (Samboor, Croatia) improved to 19-4 on the season with a straight-set singles victory over UMKC's Angelo Vasilescu. Also at singles, junior Magnus Ramfelt (Bromma, Sweden) defeated James Nelson in straight sets to improve to 14-7 overall.
On the doubles court, Denver's No. 1 tandem of Turkic and senior Tomasz Wawrzyniak (Inowroclaw, Poland) evened their season record to 8-8 with a victory over the UM-Kansas City No. 1 pairing of Yasuhito Minoda and Darren Heck. Also playing well at doubles was Ramfelt and junior Jay Patel (Ahemedabad, India), who improved to 9-5 overall and won their eighth match in their last nine outings with an 8-6 victory over Vasilescu and Nelson.
Denver (6-4) will open its home schedule next weekend with two non-conference matches. The Pioneers will host Central Florida on Friday (Mar. 16) at 1 p.m., before playing host to Loyola Marymount on Saturday (Mar. 17) at 11 a.m.
