Men's Tennis Falls to New Mexico State, 4-3

Denver’s (5-3, 0-2 SBC) doubles team of juniors Magnus Ramfelt (Bromma, Sweden) and Jay Patel (Ahmedabad, India) continued to play well together and won their seventh straight match to improve to 8-4 on the season, defeating NMSU’s tandem of Ceasar Obieta and Alvaro Domingas, 8-5. However, Denver lost at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to lose the overall doubles point.
In singles play, Denver’s No. 1 player, senior Boris Turkic (Samboor, Croatia), improved his record to 18-4 on the season with a 7-5, 7-6 victory over Obeita. The Pioneers lost three matches, at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 singles, en route to the 4-3 defeat.
Denver will play one more match in New Orleans against Arkansas-Little Rock Sunday (Mar. 4). The Pioneers will be looking for their first Sun Belt Conference victory when they meet UALR at 10 a.m.
