Men's Tennis Falls to Loyola Marymount, 6-1

The University of Denver men's tennis team fell to Loyola Marymount, 6-1, Monday (Mar. 18). The Pioneers, in California for spring break, fell to 5-9 on the season.

After losing all three doubles matches, Denver's lone victory came at No. 2 singles. Sophomore Urban Ljubic improved to 9-5 with his 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory over LMU?s Leopold Graeubig. Three other Pioneers pushed their LMU opponent to three sets before falling as senior Magnus Ramfelt took Tigran Martirosyan to three sets (6-2, 7-5, 6-1), while Lions' Johannes Asuja topped senior Jay Patel in the third set (6-3, 2-6, 7-6) and Denver senior Trevor Young topped LMU's Beau Berglund, 6-4, in the first set before falling in the final two sets, 6-3, 6-3.

The Pioneers (5-9) will face Dartmouth Tuesday (Mar. 19) in La Jolla, Calif.
