The University of Denver men's tennis team earned its sixth sweep of the year and improved to 6-11 overall with a 7-0 victory over Cal Poly in the backdraw of the 23rd Annual UC-Irvine Anteater Classic. All six Denver wins this season have been sweeps.

At No. 1 doubles, Pioneer senior Magnus Ramfelt and sophomore Urban Ljubic won their second straight match, defeating Cal Poly's Mike Marquez and Erin Carroll, 8-2. Denver earned the doubles point on the second court as seniors Trevor Young and Jay Patel notched an 8-6 victory over Nick Tracy and Greg Levy. The Pioneers only loss of the match came at No. 3 doubles, as sophomore Hans Peter Gaber and freshman Jason Tan lost to Stacy Meronoff and Davey Jones, 8-4.

At No. 1 singles Ramfelt improved to 17-10 on the season with a 6-3, 6-7, 6-0 win over Jones. On the second court, Ljubic defeated Cal Poly?s Meronoff, 6-1, 6-2, while Patel snapped a three-match losing streak with his 6-1, 6-3, victory over the Mustangs' Nick Tracy on the third court. At No. 4 singles, Gaber won his second straight match, outlasting Marquez in three sets (6-7, 7-5, 6-2). Young also snapped a three-match losing streak as he defeated Cal Poly's Carroll, 7-5 and 7-6, on court five. Tan completed the sweep at No. 6 singles with his 6-0, 6-1 victory over Mustang Brandon Shainfeld.

Denver (6-11) will face Hawai'i Saturday (Mar. 30) for fifth place in the Anteater Classic. First serve between the Pioneers and Warriors is slated for 2:30 p.m. MT.
