The University of Denver men's tennis team won its second consecutive match with a 6-1 win over Utah State in Provo, Utah. The Pioneers captured the doubles point and won five singles matches to get the victory.
"This was a really good test for our team," head coach Geoff Young said. "To come back with this win after a huge win last night is impressive. Utah State can be a dangerous team, but we played solid tennis tonight."
Nejc Smole (So, Ljubljana, Slovenia), Hans Peter Gaber (Sr., Anger, Austria), Viktor Zetterholm (So., Stockholm, Sweden), Jason Tan (Jr., Amsterdam, Netherlands) and Niki Popovic (So., Ljubljana, Slovenia) all captured singles matches for Denver.
Denver also won all three matches to capture the doubles point.
The Pioneers return to action on Jan. 31 against Air Force at Meadow Creek Club.
