JONESBORO, Ark. - The University of Denver volleyball team registered 34 kills and was held to a 0.92 hitting percentage in a 3-0 loss (17-30, 24-30, 22-30) at Arkansas State on Sunday afternoon in the Convocation Center. The Pioneers drop to 8-9 overall, 2-4 in the Sun Belt Conference. Arkansas State improves 14-6, 3-2.

ASU controlled the match from the outset, tallying a 54-34 kill advantage and holding Denver to just a 0.92 hitting percentage. THe Lady Indians also kept Denver's offense in check by recording 11 blocks. Freshman Kim Muller (Parkville, Mo.) was a bright spot for the Pioneers, as she led Denver with a career-hihg 13 kills. Freshman Sarah Wirth (Sacramento Calif.) and junior Amanda Millard (Southlake, Texas) each recorded seven kills for the Pioneers, who have lost two consecutive matches for the first time since Sept. 4.

"Kim (Muller) has a solid game for us," head coach Beth Kuwata said. "We are struggling right now in every facet of the game. We look forward to returning home next weekend."

Denver is next in action on Friday when the Pioneers host Western Kentucky in Hamilton Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
