The No. 68 New Mexico men's tennis team (8-5) netted a 6-1 win over the Denver Pioneers today at the Lobo Tennis Club. New Mexico captured the doubles point and won five of six singles matches to gain the 6-1 win. It was the first time the two had met in dual competition since 1971.
Sophomore Viktor Zetterholm (Stockholm, Sweden) posted Denver's only win on the day. Zetterholm defeated Hiroud Akhaven 4-6, 6-3 and 6-4 to improve his singles record to 7-8 in spring play.
Denver (9-8) returns to action on March 31 with a dual match against Colorado. Start time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. MT.
