Pioneers Sweep Second Consecutive Match

DENVER - The University of Denver volleyball team used a .329 hitting percentage and nine kills from junior Amanda Millard (Southlake, Texas) and won its second straight match in the University of Denver Invitational Saturday afternoon, 3-0 over Radford. The win improves Denver's overall record to 4-5 on the season. Radford drops to 2-7.

Denver was stellar from the outset in this one, recording a match-high .448 attack percentage in the first game en route to a 30-20 win. The Pioneers coasted in each of the next two games to pick up their second straight win. After beginning the season 1-4, Denver has won three of its last four matches.

The Pioneers recorded 12.5 blocks as a team, led by a career-high eight from freshman Kim Muller (Ballwin, Mo.). Sophomore Lisa Hunter (St. Louis, Mo.) led the Pioneers with 10 kills and Millard chipped in nine to go along with a match-best .444 hitting percentage (9 k, 1 e, 18 ta).

Denver will play host to Washington State in tonight's tournament finale at 7:30 p.m.
