NORMAL, Ill. -

The University of Denver volleyball team held a 44-36 kill advantage but it wasn't enough as Denver dropped its third straight match Saturday morning, 3-0 to Iowa at the Barker GMC Classic hosted by Illinois State. The Pioneers remain winless and are now 0-3 on the season.

Sophomore Lisa Hunter (St. Louis, Mo.) led the Pioneers in kills for the third consecutive match, registering a match-high 11. Junior Kristin Halt (St. Charles, Ill.) had nine kills and sophomore Shannon Parker(Parkville, Mo.) had 31 assists for the Pioneers.

"Our errors are an issue right now, hitting specifically," head coach Beth Kuwata said. "This match was better in some aspects and we are trying to be aggressive serving but we need to eliminate a lot of errors in our service games. Our outside hitters have been playing inconsistently and we need a little more from them and when that comes, I think we'll be fine."

Denver plays Wright State in the finale of the Barker GMC Classic this afternoon.
