DENVER - The University of Denver men's soccer team shutout the University of Central Florida Golden Knights, 3-0, this afternoon at Pioneer field. Denver improves to 2-0 on the season, UCF falls to 0-1-1. Two-sport star Scott Davidson (Guilford, Conn.) scored the only goal the Pioneers would need. Sophomore Mike Seager (Victoria, B.C.) added the first insurance goal in the 51st minute. Hendricks made the same move and passed the ball to Seager who drilled it past Ryan McIntosh. Sophomore Kyle Christensen (Layton, Utah) scored the third and final tally of the day. Senior Christian Bowers (Holladay, Utah) passed the ball from the end line to a streaking Christensen who then struck it home with five minutes remaining in the match. Freshman Matt Bredehoft (Fort Collins, Colo.) faced six shots in his first start. Denver outshot UCF, 16-6. The Pioneers are back in action next weekend when they host the John Byrden Classic.
