LAS VEGAS - Senior forward Scott Davidson (Guilford, Conn.) third goal of the season propelled the University of Denver Pioneers men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over the UNLV Rebels in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation action. DU ends the season with a 7-10-1 overall mark and a 3-7 record in the MPSF. UNLV falls to 2-16-1, 0-9-1.

It was a fairly even game in the first half, with UNLV holding a 6-4 edge on shots, but neither team threaten seriously in the opening 45 minutes. Denver pushed up the pressure in the second half, and took advantage of a missed clear by the Rebel defense, as a Rebel defender's header instead landed at the feet of Davidson. Davidson then moved to his right before blasting a shot through UNLV goalkeeper Peter Clitheroe into the back left corner of the net for the score at 57:47.

Denver finished with an 11-9 edge on shots. Sophomore goalkeeper Matt Bredehoft (Fort Collins, Colo.) finished with four saves to earn the shutout, while Clitheroe posted five saves in 90 minutes of action for UNLV.
