Trevor Wright Signs with Whitecaps FC 2

The field player with the most starts in program history signs first professional contract

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – University of Denver men's soccer two-time captain Trevor Wright has signed his first professional contract with Vancouver Whitecaps FC to join Whitecaps FC 2 in MLS NEXT Pro through the end of 2026.  

The 2025 Summit League Defensive Player of the Year played and started 85 matches across his six years with the Crimson and Gold, sharing Denver's matches started record with teammate Isaac Nehme. In his four seasons played at centerback, Wright scored nine goals and added seven assists for 25 career points. Wright scored a pair of game-winning goals in his career.

Wright was a two-time United Soccer Coaches' All-West Region First Team selection, earning the honor in both 2022 and 2025 and was a three-time All-Summit League honoree.
