Pioneers Earn Lopsided Win Over Idaho State, 5-1

Feb. 5, 2005

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Denver men's tennis team improved its record to 3-1 overall with a 5-1 win over Idaho State last night in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Pioneers won five of six matches for the convincing win and doubles were not played due to time constraints.

Adam Holmstrom (Eskilstuna, Sweden), Viktor Zetterholm (Stockholm, Sweden), Niklas Persson (Stockholm, Sweden), Jason Tan (Amsterdam, Netherlands) and Steve Flaks (Colorado Springs, Colo.) all recorded two-set singles victories for Denver. The singles win was the first for Zetterholm this season.

"We had a good match," head coach Geoff Young said. "We fought hard and really wanted this win. It was nice to see Viktor get his first singles win."

The Pioneers host Nebraska tonight at Meadow Creek Club in Lakewood, Colo.
