DU Men's Soccer Drops Opener

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Kevin Hall's goal with five minutes remaining in the match propelled the University of Michigan over the University of Denver men's soccer team, 1-0, today at the MSU/Radisson Classic in East Lancing, Mich. DU falls to 0-1, while Michigan improves to 2-0.

Senior midfielder Travis Hendricks (Lakewood, Colo.) led the way for DU with four shots. Freshmen Joey Mathot (Port Moody, B.C.) and Greg Fiddick (Sidney, B.C.) both had three shots in their Pioneer debuts.

DU outshot Michigan, 15-9, but could not get a ball past Wolverine goalkeeper Peter Dzubay who made five saves. Sophomore Matt Bredehoft (Fort Collins, Colo.) recorded six saves.

The Pioneers play Michigan State tomorrow in the final game of the MSU/Radisson classic at 10 a.m. MT. MSU defeated UMass, 2-1, today.
