No. 48 Pioneers Post 7-0 Win over UTEP

DENVER - The No. 48 University of Denver women's tennis evened its record at 6-6 on the season with an impressive 7-0 win over UTEP Friday morning. Denver has now won three consecutive matches.
"I think we have done a great job over that last couple of weeks adjusting to playing indoors and outdoors," said head coach Dana Young. "We competed and executed well today."
In singles, No. 100 Suzana Maksovic nabbed her fifth win of the season in the No. 1 spot, defeating Teri Wilkerson 6-2, 6-2. Annette Aksdal also posted an impressive 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles over Megan Pritchard. In other results, Rachel Sackmaster defeated Katherine Palider 6-3, 6-2, Kyla Iwinski ousted Sandra Spirta 6-1, 6-0, Marisa Mechem topped Danielle King 6-0, 6-1 and Lorinda Boothman delivered a 6-4, 6-1 win over Vicky Michaud.
The Pioneers claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions Maksovic and Aksdal defeated UTEP's King and Pritchard 8-1, while the team of Mechem and Boothman outlasted Palider and Michaud 8-3
Up next, Denver travel to Miami, Fla. for matches against Marshall (March 21), Miami (March 22) and conference foe Florida International (March 24).
