DU Volleyball Ends Regular Season with North Texas

DENVER The University of Denver volleyball team ends its regular season against the North Texas Mean Green on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. in Hamilton Gymnasium.

Denver’s match with UNT will be webcast and have live stats on www.denverpioneers.com.

The Pioneers (20-11, 14-3 SBC) have clinched a spot in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Volleyball tournament and can finish no lower than a tie for first in the SBC West Division and an overall No. 4 seed for the tournament. Denver is led by senior Kim Muller (Ballwin, Mo.), who is averaging 3.89 kills per contest. Muller is fourth on DU’s all-time kills list with 1,321. Freshman Kacie Wikierak (Crystal Lake, Ill.) has been named SBC Defensive Player of the Week four times this season, a feat equaled by just two other student-athletes. Wikierak has 577 digs so far this season.

 

North Texas (12-19, 8-9 SBC) heads into the weekend after securing a spot in the tournament field last weekend. The Mean Green’s seeding has yet to be determined. UNT is led by Katy Prokof’s 3.50 kills per game. Jessica Hulsebosch averages 4.87 digs per contest.

 

The Pioneers will host the 2007 SBC Volleyball Championship Nov. 15-17. DU’s match time will be announced early next week.

 

Tickets for each day are $8 for adults and $4 for children and senior citizens.
