Pioneers Blank Northern Arizona, 7-0

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The No. 65 University of Denver men's tennis team cruised to an easy 7-0 win over Northern Arizona today in Albuquerque. DU swept all three matches and claimed all six singles matches in two sets to improve to 7-1 this season. Northern Arizona falls to 1-7.

No. 6 Adam Holmstrom (Eskilstuna, Sweden) and Niklas Persson (Stockholm, Sweden) won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. Andrew Landwerlen (Las Cruces, N.M.) and David Simson (Vienna, Austria) won 8-3 at No. 2 and Benny Althaus (Saarbrucken, Germany and Kalle Rosen (Helsingborg, Sweden) won 8-5 at No. 3.

Persson, Simson, Althaus, Landwerlen, Rosen and Varun Gunaseelan (Chennai, India) cruised to wins in singles play.

DU has won four consecutive matches after starting the season 3-1.

The Pioneers host Idaho and No. 73 BYU next weekend at Meadow Creek Tennis Club.
