DU Volleyball Sweeps Ragin Cajuns 3-0 on the Road

Box Score

LAFAYETTE, La. - The University of Denver volleyball team (8-10, 3-1 SBC) swept the University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-23) on the road in the Earl K. Long Gym in Lafayette Louisiana. The loss drops the Ragin Cajuns to 6-13 overall and 0-4 in Sun Belt Conference action.

"The big difference between today and yesterday's matches was that we were more prepared right off the bat, both mentally and physically," said head coach Beth Kuwata. "The Ragin Cajuns are a good team, and their record doesn't really reflect that. They fought for every ball and really kept us on our heels during the third set."

Senior Emmy Davidsmeyer (Colorado Springs, Colo.) led Denver for the eighth straight match as she posted 13 kills and four blocks, while sophomore Jordan Raines (Coppell, Texas) finished with nine kills, 10 digs and two blocks.

Setter Kresson Vreeman (Raymond, Minn.) provided 32 assists for the Pioneer offensive while also finishing with 11 digs and four blocks. Defensively, freshman Faimie Kingsley (Brooklyn, N.Y.) tallied five blocks, while also helping out on the scoring end with seven kills.

Libero Kacie Wikierak (Crystal Lake, Ill.) led Denver with 17 digs, while senior Clare Maxwell (Western Springs, Ill.) helped with 11 digs, three kills, three blocks and one assist.

Ariel Krolikowski led the way for the Ragin Cajuns with six kills, while Bethany Fogler added five. Setter Kendra Hall finished with 13 assists, while libero Lindsay Brown notched 17 digs.
