DENVER - University of Denver men's golf head coach Eric Hoos announced today that the Ole Ramsnes, C.J. Kim, Chun-Ji Kim, and Oskar Arvidsson signed national letters of intent to play for the Pioneers beginning next season.
"This is by far the best recruiting class coming in since I've joined the Pioneers," Hoos said. "I am very excited to have these four very talented and experienced players joining the DU family next season because I truly believe that they will help bring our program to the next level."
From Norway, Ramsnes brings with him success in both national and international tournaments. His most recent accomplishments include first place wins in the Norwegian Championship for Boys and the Norwegian Team Championship for Men in Norway. Internationally, he tied for ninth place in French Boys, placed 14th in World Team Championship for Boys and 13th in European Team Championship for Boys among placing in many other tournaments across Europe.
Joining the Pioneers from Chandler, Ariz. are twin brothers C.J. Kim and Chun-Ji Kim, who bring with them a great deal of success and tournament experience. Currently, C.J. Kim ranks 54th and Chun-Ji Kim ranks 138th by Golfweek/Sagarin's Junior Boys Rankings.
Most recently, the brothers helped the Chandler Hamilton High School boys' golf team win its fifth-consecutive 5A-I boys state championship. C.J. Kim became a two-time champion, winning the individual title by one shot and serving as the only player to finish under par at 1-under-par 143. During his final season, C.J. also won first place in the Dobson Classic, Bart Granger Memorial and the Super-Regional.
Borther Chun-Ji Kim placed first in AJGA Heather Farr Classic Qualifying and in FCWT ASU Open in 2007 as well as placing second at FCWT Wigwam Open and first at AJGA I.R.I Srixon/Mixed Team Championship and Chandler City Invitational in 2008.
Completing the list of incoming recruits is a top recruit from Sweden. In 2009, Arvidsson captured 16 tournament stars, four top-5 finishes, six top-10 finishes and nine top-20 finishes. He placed second in the Skandia Tour Elite Boys and Sotenas Junior Open, and also represented the Swedish National Team at the French Boys International and the Spirit Invitational.
