DU Stops No. 56 Radford, 6-1

LINCOLN, Neb. - Denver improved its record to 2-0 with a 6-1 win over No. 56 Radford at Nebraska Tennis Center in Lincoln, Neb.
DU won the doubles point and five of six singles matches to claim the win. Yannick Weihs (Guntramsdorf, Austria), David Simson (Vienna, Austria), Enej Bonin (Kopar, Slovenia), Fabio Biasion (Velbert, Germany) and Andrew Landwerlen (Las Cruces, N.M.) were all victorious in singles. Weihs beat No. 66 Ivan Salec at No. 1.
DU won two of the three doubles matches, including an 8-5 win at No. 3 by Biasion and Bonin.
"I was very pleased with our effort today," DU head coach Danny Westerman said. "We looked very solid in both doubles and singles, but we are going to need to be a bit sharper to get a win against a very tough Nebraska team tomorrow."
The Pioneers play the No. 65 Huskers on Jan. 24 at 12 p.m.
