DENVER - The DU gymnastics team traveled to Elk Outdoors Adventures Unlimited on Oct. 10 to take on the ropes course and strengthen the team bond in the process.

"The point of the adventure is to take the team out of its comfort zone and to really challenge them," said head coach Melissa Kutcher-Rinehart. "Through problem solving activities and pushing the limits of each athlete, the freshmen are incorporated into the culture of the group and the team really comes together. I would like to thank Dr. Steve Portenga, our sports psychologist, for facilitating the outing."

Denver will hold an intrasquad meet on Dec. 11 before opening the season on Jan. 8, hosting Georgia, BYU and Air Force.
