Box Score 2 DENTON, Texas - The University of Denver volleyball team (14-17, 8-8 SBC) fell 3-0 to North Texas (19-12, 11-5 SBC) on Friday evening in the Mean Green Volleyball Center in Denton, Texas to close out the regular season.
Freshman Alex Turgeon (Cherry Hills Village, Colo.) led the Pioneers with eight kills, while senior Kresson Vreeman (Raymond, Minn.) finished with seven kills and 24 assists. Also turning in a strong performance was sophomore Faimie Kingsley (Brooklyn, N.Y.) with six kills and six blocks.
Defensively, sophomore Lyndi Johnson (Flower Mound, Texas) led the Pioneers with 10 digs, while senior libero Kacie Wikierak (Crystal Lake, Ill.) finished with nine digs and three assists.
Amy Huddleston and Rachelle Wilson led the Mean Green with 10 kills each.
Denver now awaits the announcement of the teams that will advance to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament that will be hosted by Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Nov. 18-20.
