Box Score MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The No. 6 seed University of Denver volleyball team (14-18, 8-8 SBC) fell 3-0 (25-6, 25-14, 25-9) to the No. 3 seed Florida International (20-10, 12-4 SBC) on Thursday afternoon in the Alumni Memorial Gym on the campus of Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The loss ends the Pioneers season, bringing their record to 14-18.
Sophomore Faimie Kingsley (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Pioneers with four kills and three blocks, while freshman Alex Turgeon (Cherry Hills Village, Colo.) finished with three kills. Senior setter Kresson Vreeman (Raymond, Minn.) finished the day with 10 assists, while senior libero Kacie Wikierak (Crystal Lake, Ill.) finished with eight digs and two assists.
Jovana Bjelica led the Golden Panthers with 17 kills, while setter Natalia Valentin finished with 35 assists. FIU will now face Western Kentucky in the second round, on Friday, Nov. 19 at 5 p.m. CT.
