Emiko Smith (Los Angeles) added a solid all-around game with six points and a team-leading seven assists and seven rebounds as Denver improves to 15-12 overall and 10-6 in the SBC. New Orleans falls to 10-17, 4-12.

"New Orleans disguised its defenses very well, but we gained some momentum late in the first half," said Denver head coach Erik Johnson. "We were able to get to the free throw line in the second half and finally got into our flow offensively. Sarah Feeney gave us a great effort off the bench in 23 minutes."

Helm scored 10 points and assisted on two other hoops as UNO jumped to a 20-11 lead in the first half. Feeney scored five points and an Ashly Robinson (Bloomington, Minn.) layup cut the UNO lead to 26-23 at halftime. Murdoch led the Pioneers with eight points in the half.

Murdoch scored four points during DU's 10-3 run as the Pioneers gained a 33-29 lead to start the second half and Robinson's traditional three-point play gave DU a 44-36 lead.

Helm's layup cut the DU lead to 49-47, but a Brianna Culberson (Jefferson City, Mo.) three-pointer and Murdoch layup iced the road win for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers shot 50% from the floor and knocked down five three-pointers in the win.

Denver returns to action at South Alabama on Feb. 24.

Notes: Denver has won three consecutive games against the Privateers. The Pioneers defeated UNO 61-54 on Jan. 6 in Denver. UNO will move to NCAA Division III status next season. Laura Palmere (Denver) didn't make the trip due to a lower leg injury.
