HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Senior guard
Nate Rohnert (Parker, Colo.) was named to the Sun Belt Conference 2010 Men's Basketball All-Tournament Team, the SBC announced tonight.
Rohnert averaged 15.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists, as he helped the Pioneers (19-3) advance to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament Semifinals for just the third time in program history.
The two-time All-SBC First Team member scored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds in Denver's First Round 71-64 victory over Florida International on March 6.
The DU captain followed it with 16 points and five boards, as the Pioneers knocked off Middle Tennessee 73-58 in the Quarterfinals on March 7.
In the Semifinals on March 8, Rohnert again scored 16 points, while adding nine rebounds and seven assists, but Denver was eliminated after a 63-56 loss to eventual SBC champion North Texas.
In his 120th and possibly last game at the University of Denver, Rohnert became DU's leader in all-time games played. The Parker, Colo., native is ninth on DU's all-time scorer list with 1,307 points. The senior captain is fourth all-time in both free throws made (379) and free throw attempts (528), sixth on Denver's all-time career assists list (357), and seventh in career steals (124).
North Texas' Eric Tramiel was named Most Outstanding Player for the tournament after recording his second double-double of the tournament in the Mean Green's 66-63 win over Troy in the championship game.
