ORLANDO, Fla. - No. 31 Denver returned to action with a sound 6-1 win over Princeton today in Orlando. The Pioneers (11-2) won the doubles point and five of six singles matches to claim their third consecutive win. Princeton falls to 3-9 with the loss.
"We had another nice effort today," DU head coach Danny Westerman said. "I was especially happy the way Jens and Drew came out in singles. They have done a great job down low all year and today they really set the tone and gave us quick 3-0 lead."
DU won the doubles point with 8-6 wins at all three positions. Jens Vorkefeld (Ostercappeln, Germany) and Andrew Landwerlen (Las Cruces, N.M.) gave DU a quick and comfortable 3-0 lead with wins at Nos. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.
David Simson (Vienna, Austria), Enej Bonin (Kopar, Slovenia) and Fabio Biasion (Velbert, Germany) also claimed wins for the Pioneers.
DU returns to action on March 20 against Central Florida.
