No. 31 Denver beats Central Florida, 5-2

ORLANDO, Fla. - No. 31 Denver continued its winning ways with a 5-2 win over No. 70 Central Florida today in Orlando.

Denver lost the doubles point, but rallied with five singles wins to improve to 12-2. Central Florida falls to 7-5 with the loss.

"We got past a tough UCF team," DU head coach Danny Westerman said. "Their doubles are tough, which makes them very dangerous. We stepped up after doubles, but we can't keep relying on getting four points in singles."

Posting singles wins for Denver were Yannick Weihs (Guntramsdorf, Austria), Enej Bonin (Kopar, Slovenia), Fabio Biasion (Velbert, Germany), Jens Vorkefeld (Ostercappeln, Germany) and Andrew Landwerlen (Las Cruces, N.M.). Biasion and Vorkefeld earned hard-fought three-set wins at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

Denver returns to action on Saturday, March 27 against Illinois State.
