Vorkefeld Clinches Win for No. 25 Denver

DENVER - No. 25 Denver edged Pacific, 4-3, in men's tennis action this afternoon at Stapleton Tennis Pavilion.

Freshman Jens Vorkefeld (Ostercappeln, Germany) clinched the win at No. 5 singles as Denver wins its sixth straight match and improves to 14-2 overall. Pacific falls to 4-9.

Vorkefeld broke a 3-3 tie in the deciding match with a 7-6(8), 2-6, 6-2 win over Vegerd Veskimagi.

Also posting singles wins for the Pioneers were Enej Bonin (Kopar, Slovenia), Fabio Biasion (Velbert, Germany) and Andrew Landwerlen (Las Cruces, N.M.).

DU returns to action at the Sun Belt Shootout on April 2-4 in Troy, Ala.
