Women's Tennis Beats Middle Tennessee, 6-1

DENVER - The Denver women's tennis senior class went out in fine style this afternoon at Stapleton Tennis Pavilion. Ute Schnoy (Altenstadt, Germany), Julia Bauregger (Klagenfurt, Austria) and Lorinda Boothman (Naples, Fla.) guided the Pioneers to a 6-1 win over Middle Tennessee on Senior Day.

Denver improves to 8-13 with the win, while Middle Tennessee falls to 8-7.

Schnoy, Bauregger and Boothman each won their singles matches. Schnoy and Bauregger were also victorious in doubles. Freshmen Sophia Bergner (Schechen, Germany) and Emma Isberg (Tyreso, Sweden) also claimed singles wins.

"We played a really good match today," DU head coach Jeremy Wurtzman stated. "It started with a good doubles point that led us into playing well in singles. We recognized our seniors today for all of their hard work, commitment, and dedication they have brought to this program. It was nice to see Ute, Julia and Lorinda all get a win today. We are now going to practice hard over the next week to prepare for the Sun Belt Conference tournament."

The Pioneers head to SBC tournament play on April 22-25 in New Orleans.
