DU Volleyball Falls to Florida International, 3-0

MIAMI, Fla. - The University of Denver volleyball team (6-10, 0-2 SBC) fell 3-0 (29-27, 25-16, 25-20) to Florida International University (7-6, 1-0 SBC) on Friday evening at US Century Bank Arena in Miami, Florida. Freshman Brea Muhle (Columbus, Neb.) led the Pioneers with 14 kills and four blocks.

Leading the way in assists was senior Kresson Vreeman (Raymond, Minn.) with 15 assists, while junior Julia Cawthra (Lakewood, Colo.) finished with 11 assists. Senior libero Kacie Wikierak (Crystal Lake, Ill.) finished with 18 digs to lead Denver defensively, while Vreeman finished with nine digs and three blocks.

Una Trkulja led the Golden Panthers with 18 kills, while Andrea Lakovic finished with eight kills and four blocks.

Next up, the Pioneers continue on the road, facing Florida Atlantic tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. MT.
