DU Swimming and Diving Earn SBC Weekly Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. - University of Denver women's swimmer Katy Motsinger (Charleston, S.C.) was named the Sun Belt Conference Female Swimmer of the Week and men's diver Seth McNew (Lakewood, Colo.) was named Sun Belt Conference Male Diver of the Week by the league office on Tuesday.

Motsinger, a senior, led the Pioneers' A Relay team to a second-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay at the FAU Invite on Dec. 18th with a time of 1:47:44, and also finished first in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 57.84.  She then helped the A Relay team finish second in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:37:82.

McNew, also a senior, helped lead the Pioneers to a first-place finish at the FAU Invitational, finishing second in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 243.00, then immediately went on to finish first in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 310.60.

Also recognized were Florida Atlantic's Mikolaj Czarnecki as Male Swimmer of the Week and Maegan Butler as Female Diver of the Week.
