VANCOUVER, B.C. - University of Denver men's and women's swimmers reached seven more A-Finals on Sunday to bring the weekend total to 20 on the final night of the Mel Zajac Jr. International at the UBC Aquatic Center.
Freshman Emily Vandenberg (Ajax, Ontario) swam Denver's first A-Final of the night, taking ninth in the 50 breast with a 34.15. On the men's side, freshman Adriel Sanes (Rosharon, Texas) also took ninth with a 30.60.
A night after her trip to the podium in the 100 fly, redshirt-junior Heidi Bradley (Victoria, B.C.) qualified for the A-Final in the 200 fly, finishing eighth with a 2:19.12.
Junior Graham Walker (Nairobi, Kenya) earned the best finish of the night to that point for a Pioneer in the 200 fly, reaching the final wall in fifth with a 2:03.40.
Denver's men continued their success in the freestyle events on the weekend. Farber cracked the top four in the 100 free, ahead of U.S. Olympian Ryan Lochte and Denver teammate Stephen Calkins (Calgary, Alberta) who touched the wall in ninth with a 51.36.
Bradley reached her fourth A-Final of the weekend, ultimately taking ninth with a 1:04.74 in the 100 back.
