Denver Halts Losing Streak

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Denver stops its seven-match losing streak with a 4-3 win over No. 53 Princeton today at the Hilton Mission Valley Spring Classic in San Diego on Friday.

The Pioneers improve to 3-10 with the win, while Princeton falls to 7-5.

After dropping the doubles point, DU claimed four singles wins to register the win.

Enej Bonin (Koper, Slovenia), Yannick Weihs (Guntramsdorf, Austria), Jens Vorkefeld (Ostercappeln, Germany) and Andrew Landwerlen (Las Cruces, N.M.) were all victorious for the Pioneers, who posted their first win since Feb. 6.

"With all the challenges this team has gone through this year, this win is very sweet," DU head coach Danny Westerman said. "We had a potentially demoralizing loss yesterday to Purdue, but our team showed how tough we can be today. I could not be prouder of this group for hanging in there and getting the win."

DU closes out play in San Diego against Harvard tomorrow.
