Women's Tennis Gains 6-1 Win

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The University olf Denver women's tennis team ended a three-match losing streak with a 6-1 win over Sun Belt Conference opponent Middle Tennessee Friday afternoon.

DU improves to 5-10 overall with the win, while Middle Tennessee falls to 5-8.

Sophia Bergner (Schechen, Germany), Elena Najera (San Diego, Calif.), Caroline Schnell (Greenwood Village, Colo.), Emma Isberg (Tyreso, Sweden) and Steffi Rath (Hochst, Germany) all posted singles wins in the match.

DU also claimed the doubles point with wins from Bergner and Najera at No. 1 and Schnell and Dunn at No. 2 doubles.

The Pioneers return to action Saturday against South Alabama. First serve is set for 12 p.m. MT.
