DU's Eric Hoos Finishes Strong at HealthONE Colorado Senior Open

DENVER - University of Denver head men's golf coach Eric Hoos posted a final round 68 to claim low amateur honors at the 12th Annual HealthONE Colorado Senior Open at the 6,819 yard, par 72 Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in Denver last week.

"It was a lot of fun to get out there and compete again," Hoos said. "I still love going out there, plus it is nice to know that I can still play a little. Claiming the low amateur honor means a lot to me."

Hoos was tied with Dave Brown of Boulder going into the final day of competition with a two-round total of 144. Hoos's 4-under final round earned him the amateur title and seventh overall for the tournament.

R.W. Eaks won the event with a 15-under 201, two strokes better than the record set in 2007.

Hoos, a Boulder native, was a two-year letter winner as a golfer at the University of Arkansas. He is entering his 12th season as head of the Pioneers.
