Pioneers Fall to Roadrunners, 3-1 on the Road

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Denver volleyball team fell 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 21-25, 16-25) to Western Athletic Conference foe Texas-San Antonio on Thursday evening on the road in San Antonio, Texas. The loss drops the Pioneers with 15-12 overall, 8-8 in league play, while UTSA improves to 18-8, 11-5 in conference.

Junior Brea Muhle (Columbus, Neb.) led the Pioneers with 13 kills and four blocks, while freshman Michele Swope (Orlando, Fla.) finished with 11 kills and seven digs. Sophomore setter Frances Carroll (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) tallied 40 assists and 15 digs, while senior Lyndi Johnson (Flower Mound, Texas) registered 22 digs.

Sophomore Kate Acker (Waukesha, Wis.) finished with 16 digs, while senior Faimie Kingsley (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished with eight kills and three blocks.

McKenzie Adams led the Roadrunners with 18 kills, while Dempsey Thornton and Whitney Walls tallied 10 kills.

The Pioneers remain on the road, traveling to San Marcos, Texas to take on Texas State on Saturday at 1 p.m. MT. Live Stats and Live Video are available for fans.
