Pioneers Ranked No. 18 in GymInfo Rankings

DENVER - The University of Denver gymnastics squad is ranked 18th in the country entering this weekend's Western Athletic Conference Championships with a Regional Qualifying Score of 195.865.

As a team, the Pioneers are 14th on Vault (RQS: 49.100), 23rd on Bars (48.915), 26th on Beam (48.740) and 14th on Floor (49.145).

Individually, sophomore Melodie Pulgarin Linero (Barcelona, Spain) ranks 21st in the nation in the All-Around (39.265) and sophomore Moriah Martin (Lake Mary, Fla.) sits at 25th (39.210). Martin is sixth on Vault (9.915), senior Louise Mercer (Nottingham, England) is 34th on Bars (9.855) and sophomore Jorie Hall (Denver, Colo.) is 59th on Beam (9.825) and 40th on Floor (9.855) to lead the Pioneers.

For the fifth-consecutive week, Florida sits atop the poll, improving its RQS to 197.395. Seven of the Pioneers previous opponents remain in the top 25. Georgia is fifth (196.995), Nebraska is sixth (196.960), Oregon State is eighth (196.550), Ohio State is 13th (196.115), Minnesota is 16th (195.880), Missouri is 19th (195.825) and Iowa State is 25th (195.275).

Denver will compete in the WAC Championships on Saturday at 6 p.m. MT inside the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan, Utah.
