DENVER – The University of Denver hockey team fell five spots to No.17 this week in the USCHO.com poll, which was released Tuesday Oct. 22. The Pioneers also received the 16th-most points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.
The Pioneers dropped five spots to the No. 17 position in the USCHO.com poll after playing last weekend in the Alaska Gold Rush Tournament. Denver was previously ranked No. 12, and its record now is even at 2-2.
Minnesota holds the top spot in both the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls, garnering 972 points and 31 first-place votes in the USHO.com poll and 495 points and 25 first-place votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Top 15. Notre Dame is second in the USCHO with 928 points and 11 first-place votes. The rest of the top 10 in the USCHO.com poll includes No. 3 Miami (874), No. 4 Michigan (844), No. 5 Boston College (769), No. 6 North Dakota (720), No. 7 Yale (676), No. 8 Providence (668), No. 9 Quinnipiac (536) and No. 10 St. Cloud State (516).
In the USA Today/ USA Hockey Magazine rankings, Notre Dame also sit at No.2 with five first place votes and 439 points followed by, Miami (421), Michigan (402), Boston College (370), Yale (311), North Dakota (302), Providence (280), Quinnipiac (231) and St. Cloud State University (171).
Denver received 187 points in the USCHO and 27 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Top 15.

The Pioneers return home this weekend for a pair of single games. Denver opens action on Friday vs. Niagara at Magness Arena (7:37 p.m., MT), before closing out the weekend against Canisius on Saturday (7:07 p.m., MT).
