Box Score

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Denver volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (17-25, 23-25, 25-18, 27-29) decision to conference opponent IUPUI on the road on Saturday afternoon at The Jungle in Indianapolis, Ind. The loss drops the Pioneers to 12-10 on the season, 6-3 in The Summit League, while IUPUI sits at 13-12, 7-2 in league play.

“It was a very competitive match as both teams played very well,” said head coach Jesse Mahoney. “We had our chances in sets two and four, but could not close them out to force a game five. Senior Brea Muhle (Columbus, Neb.) and freshman Moni Corrujedo (El Paso, Texas) both tallied 10 kills, while Muhle finished with a team-high .471 hitting percentage.

Muhle also tied her career-high with 10 blocks, while King and senior Cassie Ronda (Chandler, Ariz.) both tallied five blocks.

Sophomore setter Tori Moons (Visalia, Calif.) led the way with 29 assists and King finished with 23, splitting time with Moons. Junior libero Kate Acker (Waukesha, Wis.) led the way with 19 digs, followed by Corrujedo’s 13.

Up next, Denver returns home to host North Dakota State (Friday, Nov. 1) and South Dakota State (Sunday, Nov. 3) at Hamilton Gymnasium.
