Box Score INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The No. 2 seeded University of Denver volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-19) to top-seed and tournament hosts IUPUI in The Summit League Volleyball Championship match on Sunday afternoon from The Jungle at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Ind. The loss brings the Pioneers to 17-12 on the season, while the Jaguars improve to 19-13.
“It’s a tough end to a great conference season and tournament run,” said head coach Jesse Mahoney. “IUPUI put pressure on us all afternoon and we were never able to get in a good offensive rhythm. IUPUI is a great team and tough to beat on its home floor. I’m proud of the steps forward that we took this season as a program, in large part due to the hard work and leadership of our senior class: Cassie, Colleen, Kate and Brea. We had our share of challenges this year and this group persevered, overcame and had a season they can be proud of.”
The win gives the Jaguars The Summit League Conference Championship and the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
