INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Denver women’s basketball team fell 82-66 to the IUPUI Jaguars on Saturday afternoon at The Jungle in Indianapolis, Ind. The loss drops the Pioneers with 3-15 on the season 1-2 in The Summit League, while the Jaguars improve to 13-6, 3-1 in league play.

Junior Theresa Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.) led the way with her fifth double-double of the season, sixth of her career, off 19 points and 11 rebounds. The junior finished perfect from the field (6-of-6) and from the line (6-of-6) to go along with three assists and one block.

Junior Jordan Johnston (Waterloo, Iowa) led the Pioneers in the second half with six points, four coming from the line off a perfect 4-of-4 showing, while Wirth grabbed seven of her 11 total rebounds in the second half. Denver shot a perfect 8-of-8 from the line in the second half and improved from the field, shooting 47.6 percent, but it wasn’t enough as the Jaguars outscored the Pioneers 33-29.

Wirth led the Pioneers with 15 points in the first half on a perfect showing from the field (4-of-4) and the line (6-of-6). The forward also had four rebounds, three assists and one block. Van Riper-Rose dished in eight points, while Bradley chipped in six points and three assists.
