DENVER – The University of Denver women’s gymnastics future member, Nikole Addison (Ft. Myers, Fla.), qualified for the Nastia Liukin Cup, scheduled for February 28 in Greensboro, N.C. After finishing first in the all-around, on bars and on floor at the Sand Dollar/Whitlow Invitational, Addison earned her second trip to the competition.
The Ft. Myers, Fla., native received a 38.575 in the all-around, high-lighted by a 9.600 on bars and a 9.750 on floor. Addison finished second on beam, with a 9.550 and completed her total score with a 9.675 on vault.
Addison, who participated in the Nastia Liukin Cup in 2010, has advanced to the Florida State and Regional Championships every year since she became a level 10. In addition, she has participated at Nationals four times and earned a trip to NIT’s once. She is a member of Coast Elite Gymnastics and will be joining the Pioneers squad in the fall of 2014.
The Pioneers will be on the road at BYU on Friday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. MT. Denver will return home Saturday, Feb. 8 to face North Carolina State and Southern Utah at 6 p.m.
