Interviews with Nola Basey, Ruth Okoye and Kate Acker

INDIANAPOLIS- The University of Denver volleyball team and fans gathered on Sunday night in Gottesfeld Room of the Daniel L. Ritchie Center to learn its NCAA draw. Denver's volleyball team will head to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history, where they will face Colorado State University (29-2) in the first round Friday, December 5 at 6:30 p.m. MT (8:30 p.m. Eastern).

Full Tournament Draw

Head coach Jesse Mahoney
, in his third season at the helm of the program, has led the Pioneers to a 27-6 mark after Saturday afternoon's NCAA Tournament preparation match at Northern Colorado, in which they swept the Bears. The Pioneers finished 12-1 at Hamilton Gymnasium, and 13-3 in their second season in The Summit League. DU also finished the campaign 5-0 in neutral site matches.

Head coach Jesse Mahoney commented on what making this tournament means to this DU volleyball program:

"I think it's really special. It's something we haven't accomplished before, but is what we've been working toward even before this current staff. The ultimate goal was to take this next step and it's going to be exciting to do that with this group of players. We're ready to get going."
