Unfortunately I went right to work upon graduation. Shortly after I moved to the Bay Area and started my career. After a couple of years in California I moved back to Denver and got married to a DU grad.
Now I live in Denver and own a couple of businesses. One business is a real estate investment company and my partner is a DU grad. I also own a national residential construction company that has been a challenge and experience. I have three kids and enjoy watching them grow up.
My experience as a student-athlete was great. The second you walk on campus you have a built-in network. The buildings and campus grew tremendously during my time at DU so I was fortunate to experience the growth of the campus. The education was great and it afforded me to get great attention from professors due to the size of the classes. Athletically I grew a lot not only as a player but person. The program was pushing the envelope and becoming a national contender. Lastly, it was great to have a new stadium built during my time which solidified the program’s traction within the University.
Truthfully the athletics prepared me more than the academics at DU. It taught me perseverance, hard work, determination, analyzing how to beat the opponent or competition, maturity, time management and most of all being a leader.
