DENVER -  A pair of former University of Denver golfers, Chris Gilman (Newbury Park, Calif.)  and Espen Kofstad (Oslo, Norway) will continue their professional careers this season.

Gilman, who turned pro in 2009, will participate in the Web.com Tour while Kofstad will play on the European Tour in this his fifth pro season.

"Chris and Espen exemplify the type of player that Pioneer Golf is all about," said DU head coach Erik Billinger. "Their years of hard work is paying off and the Pioneer golf family couldn't be more proud of them. We will be rooting them on as they compete around the world, against the best in the world."

Gilman qualified for the Web.com Tour in December, shooting 9-under par total for five rounds. He finished in a tie for 28th in the Web.com Tour Q-School event while earning $10,000. Last year Gilman played on the PGA Tour Latino America, participating in 15 events.

Kofstad, despite an injury plagued 2014, qualified for the European Tour with a 12th place Qualifying School final stage showing in November.

Kofstad holds the Pioneers all-time record for birdies with 150 during the 2009-10 season. He is also second on the all-time list with seven eagles made during the 2007-2008 campaign, trailing only Jeff Koprivetz (Yorba Linda, Calif.) who turned in eight eagles during the 2006-07 season.

The first Web.com Tour event will be the Panama Claro Championship in Panama City beginning January 26th.

The European Tour is underway with the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters taking place this weekend in Doha, Qatar.
