Feb. 20, 2015 Day 3 Results
Indianapolis- Day three of the Summit League Swimming Championships has concluded and the Denver Pioneers teams remain in first place. The Men's team sits atop the board with 673 points. The Women's team also stands tallest with 729 points.
More record have fallen and it started with the women's 400 medley relay. The quartet of Johanna Roas, Amanda Sanders, Sam Corea, and Zoe Huddleston. Their time of 3:36.15 is a new school and league record in getting the first place victory.
Cat Badillo and Dana Gau qualified for finals in the 1 meter dive. Badillo posted a score of 257 to finish in fourth place. Gau posted a score of 246.75 to finish in fifth.
Amanda Sanders' night continued with the success in the 100 breaststroke where she brought in another victory. Her time of 1:01.45 took first and was a NCAA B Cut time.
In the women's 400 IM, three Pioneers occupies first through third place. Maddie Myers, Bridgette McNally, and Clara Jenck all had times that also qualified as NCAA B Cuts.
Sam Corea added another record to her resume, in the 100 butterfly she posted a 51.70 and got a NCAA A cut time. Sam's night continued with victories in the 100 back stroke where she took first just ahead of teammate Johanna Roas. Both Pioneers had NCAA B Cut times.
Jeremiah Zgliczynski and Lane Bretschneider took first and second in the 400 IM and both swam NCAA B Cute times.
In the Men's 100 butterfly, Andrew Torres took the victory with his time of 47.47 and a NCAA B cut time.
Continuing the big night, the men's 200 free featured four Pioneers in the finals. The quartet of Ray Bornman, Dylan Bunch, Scott Bergstrom, and Luke Williams finished first through fourth. Including to the top finishes, their times were also NCAA B Cut times.
Men's 100 breaststroke featured another 1,2,3 finish for the Pioneers as Tim Cottam, Travis Greenwald, and Patrick Guillory finished first through third and all had NCAA B Cut times.
Anton Loncar won the men's 100 back stroke with a time of 48.11 and a NCAA B Cut time.
Tomorrow is the last day of the Summit League Championships. Pioneers will look to secure the League Championship.
