About Denver: The Pioneers defeated Western Illinois in their last game, 59-46 at Western Hall in Macomb, on Feb.21. Denver's win at Western Illinois snapped a six-game road losing streak and was their first Summit League road win of the season. Denver was led by Cam Griffin who scored 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds against Western Illinois, while Nate Engesser scored 11 points and grabbed a career-high seven rebounds. Marcus Byrd added 13 points knocking down 3-of-4 from behind the arc. Brett Olson is leading the way averaging 13.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists a game. Griffin is averaging 11.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists a game on 53.6 percent shooting from the field. Engesser is averaging 10.8 points a game on 52.3 percent shooting. Denver was selected to finish second in The Summit League by league head coaches, SIDs and members of the media.
About South Dakota: The Coyotes come into Wednesday's matchup winners of four straight contests. South Dakota beat IUPUI on Feb. 21, 77-62. Tyler Larson scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the victory. Tre Burnette scored 12 points and had six steals, while Brandon Bos added 11 points. South Dakota is led by Larson who is averaging 14.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists a game, while Bos is averaging 13.7 points and 3.6 rebounds. Casey Kasperbauer is averaging 10.0 points a game, while Burnette is averaging 7.7 points and 5.6 rebounds. The Coyotes were selected to finish eighth in The Summit League in the preseason poll.
Booming Brett: Brett Olson is averaging 13.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists while playing 34.9 minutes a game during the 2014-15 season. Olson scored a season-high 27 points vs. St. Joseph's on Dec. 29 knocking down 9-of-12 shots from the field and 5-of-6 from behind the arc. Olson has a 2.1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Olson played a career-high 45 minutes vs. NDSU on Feb 12, 2015.
Slammin' Cam: Senior guard Cam Griffin is averaging 11.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists on the season on 53.6 percent shooting from the field. Griffin scored a career-high 21 points against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi breaking his previous career-high of 19 which he set at St. Mary's earlier this season. Griffin currently sits in eighth place on the all-time steals list at the University of Denver with 136. Griffin set a career-high in rebounds with 12 against IPFW on Feb. 19, 2015.
Nifty Nate: Junior guard Nate Engesser set a career high on Nov. 26 at Belmont scoring 26 points and knocking down a career high seven 3-pointers. The seven 3-pointers were the most by a Pioneer since Feb. 26, 2009 when Brian Stafford hit seven at Louisiana-Monroe. Engesser is averaging 10.8 points a game on 52.3 percent shooting from the field and 44.2 percent from behind the arc and dishes out 2.5 assists a game. Engesser set a career-highs in assists (6) and steals (3) vs. Western Illinois on Jan 14, 2015. He tied his career-high in assists by dishing out six against Omaha on Feb. 7, 2015. Engesser grabbed a career-high seven rebounds at Western Illinois on Feb. 21, 2015.

Byrd's Eye View: Redshirt junior Marcus Byrd is averaging 8.7 points on 49.7 percent shooting from the field and 46.5 percent from behind the arc and grabs 3.6 rebounds in 28.4 minutes a game this season. Byrd played a career-high 40 minutes at IUPUI on Jan. 10, 2015.
